How do I connect my UtilityAPI account to my Open Solar account?
Connecting your UtilityAPI and OpenSolar accounts is simple and takes only a few minutes. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Create or retrieve your UtilityAPI API token.

Go to your UtilityAPI API settings to create or retrieve an API token

You can either:

Create a new API token (recommended)

Or copy an existing token if you’ve already generated one

Tip: Create a new token specifically for the OpenSolar integration at the admin user level.
This ensures:

You can manage or disable the integration later without affecting other workflows

The token will have access to all customer data as needed

Step 2: Connect your UtilityAPI account to OpenSolar
- Create or log into your OpenSolar account: Visit OpenSolar.com and sign up for a free account or log in if you already have one.
- In your OpenSolar account, navigate to the Control (on the top navigation bar of your OpenSolar Dashboard), then click on Settings in the left-hand menu.
- Under Settings, click Integrations & API Keys and paste the API token from UtilityAPI into the corresponding "UtilityAPI API Key" field under Others.
- Click Save on the bottom right of the screen.
