Utility Pre-Selection: Show Only the Utilities You Need
What is Utility Pre-Selection?
Our new Utility Pre-Selection feature lets you control which utilities appear in your account’s authorization form. Instead of showing the full list of utilities, you can “pre-select” a subset that better fits your workflow.
This helps reduce mistakes when utility account holders choose the wrong utility, and makes the authorization process faster and more focused.
Why Use It?

Reduce errors: Customers won’t accidentally pick the wrong utility.

Save time: Only the relevant utilities are shown in your authorization form.

Customize by territory: If you only work with PG&E, only show PG&E. If you only use Eversource MA’s usage link, only show that option.
How Utility Pre-Selection Works

You can pre-select anywhere from 1 to 10 utilities.

If you don’t set any preferences, all available utilities will continue to appear by default.

Updates apply immediately across your authorization forms.
How to Set It Up

Go to your account settings in the UtilityAPI dashboard.

Find the Authorization Form Settings section.

Select Utility Pre-Selection.

Search for the utilities you’d like to display (1–10) by their unique utility ID.

Save your changes.
That’s it! The next time your customers see your authorization form, only your chosen utilities will appear.

What happens if I don’t pre-select utilities?
All utilities will continue to appear by default. Nothing changes unless you choose to customize.
Can I change my pre-selections later?
Yes, you can update your pre-selections at any time, and the changes will apply immediately.
Is there a limit on how many utilities I can select?
Yes — you can choose anywhere between 1 and 10 utilities.
